What do you do?

I design, make & sell Tree earring bird feeders for New Zealand gardens. They are elegant, light-hearted and practical and provide an opportunity to care for and enjoy the birds around us every day

Why did you start your business?

A few years ago I went looking for bird feeders for my garden and really couldn’t find any that ticked the box for me. So I started experimenting with shapes & colours inspired by the bush and the bird life where I live. It is very appealing to me to be based from a studio at home and generating my own work.

Why is being Eco Friendly important to you?

I think we have become stressed and disconnected from the natural world around us. It’s essential to our health and well being to defend nature, healthy eco systems have never been more important and feeding birds is an expression of a wider orientation towards nature

What is your top Eco tip?

What is your top Eco tip? Feeding birds won’t make them dependent on you, they won’t forget how to find food on their own. But by planting even a few native species like hangehange, tree fuschia, five finger or flax you’ll be doing them a lasting service. Read Nicole’s Blog.
